Five Daughters Bakery: Rebrand
Rebranding / Logo Design / Brand Guide
You will create a comprehensive identity system for a small/local company that is in need of a redesign. In Assignment 1, we redesigned a large national fast food/restaurant brand. In this exercise we’ll apply those principles to a smaller
company.
No matter what size they are, the most successful businesses are the ones that have established themselves as a leader in their industry by creating a strong brand. And, when these businesses focus on building valuable customer experiences, they easily transform customers into brand ambassadors. - Jenna Bruce, Mediaspace Solutions.
Deliverables:
- New Logo
- Brand Guide
- Stationery Set; Business Cards, Letterhead, and Envelopes
- Instagram Templates

Brainstorming

Initial Look
• Reminds [me] of Krispy Kreme
• Not much of a contrast in the color palette. Will cause issue down the road (ex. body copy colors)
• Not a big difference between Headline typeface and subhead line. Find something with greater contrast.
• The ‘D’ in daughters looks like a ‘B’.

Revisions
When making edits to the logo, I made sure it was readable and didn't look like other brands. I needed this brand to me memberable for their products, not because it reminds people of another product. To do so, I shrunk the donut and made it a background element in the logo. I also removed the loop on top of the ‘D’ so it didn’t look like a ‘B’
I picked brighter colors for the color palette and logo and added dark blue that could be used for the body copy.
